Welcome to the Year 9 area of the Jo Richardson website. We hope that you will enjoy browsing and find the information useful. If you have any queries please contact your son/daughter’s form tutor in the first instance.
This year is a hugely important year for us. It is our Options year so we will be deciding which subjects we will be doing at GCSE in year 10 and 11. It is really important that we get as much information as possible about what courses are like and what skills will be developed. Also, we will need to think about the future so we know what kind of qualifications we will need to get good jobs and places at college or university. There will be a number of events during the year where we will focus on this and attendance is essential. Please put the dates of the year 9 SPRD days and Parents' Evening in your diaries so that you can arrange to attend these events.
The year 9 team wishes everyone luck this year in making some really important decisions.

Attendance
As a year group we have a target of 95% attendance. We pride ourselves of being good attenders and achieved 94.9% attendance last year. This year we would like to beat this target so we can maximise our learning time in school. Well done to the following forms for achieving Attendance of the Week!
