PDE

Overview
To provide students with the skills and knowledge to make informed decisions in all aspects of their lives. To create a purposeful learning environment where there is an emphasis on success, to build on students strengths, interests and experiences. Through PDE students learn to become effective Citizens and to realize the importance of a healthy lifestyle, to develop enterprise and leadership skills through active participation. PDE encourages students to think creatively and critically throughout their learning experience. All students will sit a GCSE in Citizenship at the end of year 11 (Short Course).

Homework Policy

KS3: Homework is clearly identified in each unit of work taught (there are six areas in total). There is an emphasis on preparation and research at key stage three. Keeping up to date with the news and topical issues is a focus.

KS4: Homework is clearly identified in each unit of work taught (there are five areas in total). Students also complete a piece of coursework, most of the preparation and activity needs to be completed outside of the lesson. Keeping up to date with the news and topical issues is a focus.
